I watched the queues at McDonalds in Liverpool Street Station and thought to myself,’Why!?’ A mere 15 second walk out of the station and you’ll come to Patty & Bun
I had become a fan of their burgers from their first location just off Oxford Street. Distinctively flavoured burgers did it for me – all too often, I find that burgers can become a general mixed mush in my mouth but P&B’s versions all had their own character
It’s not the biggest shop for eat in but Emma and I snagged one of their tables for a quick pre-wedding snack. The smoked belly special sounded divine but as this was Emma’s first time, I wanted to introduce her to my favourite ‘lambshank redemption’ burger
As we were dressed in our wedding outfits, I had to warn Emma that P&B’s burgers are juicy and the generous fillings can often slip out of the sides, so be careful. The lamb shank burger lived up to its usual star billing – juicy moist lamb patty, natural flavour partner cumin aioli to lift it, feta for salty accents and chilli for a bit of zing. Why don’t we have more lamb burgers?
