Brunch at Josie’s, Bishops Waltham

Because I don’t booze, I don’t always brunch with the Boozy Bunch as I have a hunch the alcohol packs a punch though I quite often munch and even lunch with the Boozy Bunch. However, I do brunch sometimes with a different bunch.

Emma has been trying to treat me to brunch at Josie’s for awhile. So, when we visited her brother and his family in the village of Bishops Waltham, we met them at Josie’s for brunch. There was a healthy queue of people waiting but we were lucky to snag a table quickly – no reservations at brunch.

For me, it’s was the Mexican Benedict, a tex-mex interpretation of eggs Benedict with homemade chorizo, poached eggs and green chilli hollandaise on the toasted muffin. I’m always looking for new dishes to try and this variation on the classic eggs Benedict was zingy and flavoursome.

Emma had the Eggs Royale, the version with smoked salmon, which  was pronounced to be yummy.

Emma’s brother had the poached eggs and avocado salsa with vine tomatoes and green chilli dressing on sourdough toast with a side of sausage. Another tex-mex dish, which brought some heat to a cold winter’s day.

The kids had a croque monsieur and a breakfast sandwich.

Coffees and juices were freshly made.

Thanks for the great brunch, Emma. Josie’s remains open through the day with delicious looking cakes to tempt customers.
